Dark Chocolate Cow Pies

Chocolate Cow Pies!

I was walking through the airport this morning and saw chocolate cow pies. I am not sure what they were but I am quite sure they were not dark chocolate. What do you suppose cows eat to create dark chocolate cow pies? I can’t think about it.

When I was a kid on the farm, my cousins and I would wander around the farm for hours. One of the first things we learned was, do not step in cow pies. I certainly do not want to eat one. EWWW… Which makes me think about other foods that are marketed as healthy. I use the term “food” very loosely. They now have whole grain Twinkies with blueberries. I mean really, who in their right mind would ever eat a Twinkie and think it was healthy-ful? {See old blogs.) OK, maybe Charlie Sheen.

In the near future, we will have a discussion on whole grains versus whole wheat versus gluten free. Such confusion out there. In the meantime, I am thinking about how to get rich selling whole grain, dark chocolate, gluten free Twinkies with blueberries. If you don’t see another blog from me, you will know I have succeeded and do not have to be a dietitian anymore.

Hurrah! Then I will stop receiving hate mail. Except from really mean dietitians.

Registered Dietitian

Hi, I’m Mary Kate. I love to try new foods and explore new restaurants and coffee shops, and even went on a homemade bagel-making kick this summer! My interest in nutrition started in middle school with my mom adding more veggies to our meals and making them taste interesting and fun, which sparked my interest to help her cook and learn more about how the food we eat impacts us every day. Over the years, I’ve witnessed firsthand the profound impact that proper nutrition and daily fueling can have on overall health. Like many of my clients, I have faced challenges with my own gut health and hormonal changes, so I can relate to the frustrations and fatigue that come with seeking relief. Through personalized care and tailored nutrition, I discovered the keys to my health, and my goal is to help others bring their sense of vitality back!
