Kansas City Dietitian Throws Down the Gauntlet

Kansas City Dietitian Throws Down the Gauntlet

(and watch it, I have really rotten aim)

I dare you to join me to get healthier over the next 12 weeks. Are you up to the challenge?  Or are you afraid of little ole Wonder Dietitian?

It’s time to step up to the plate (or should I say, step away from the plate?)

For the next 12 weeks I will be blogging ways for you to take back your health care from congress.  (If you don’t, you will find yourself mired in trillions of extra calories.)

This is week 1 of the 12 week challenge.

What is your weight?

(Oh, no you don’t.  Don’t chicken out now, just when we are getting started.  The real fun is yet to come.)

No matter how many times you tell yourself it doesn’t matter, the truth is, it does.  Being a healthy weight helps you body to be a healthier.  It is unhealthy to be too thin and it is unhealthy to be too heavy.  So, go get on the scales and write it down.

How many calories do you burn each day?

Anyone out there own a Room Calorimeter?  If not then we will just have to use estimates.  The following are my favorite websites and apps for determining calories burned.

www.dailyburn.com

www.myfitnesspal.com

www.livestrong.com

See, isn’t this going to be fun?  Don’t you dare throw that gauntlet back down.  You picked it up and it’s going to stay that way.

Now, just smile sweetly because we are going to get healthier, (if it kills us.)

With Love, from Wonder Dietitian

Mary Kate Meyer, MS, RDN, LD

Registered Dietitian

Hi, I’m Mary Kate. I love to try new foods and explore new restaurants and coffee shops, and even went on a homemade bagel-making kick this summer! My interest in nutrition started in middle school with my mom adding more veggies to our meals and making them taste interesting and fun, which sparked my interest to help her cook and learn more about how the food we eat impacts us every day. Over the years, I’ve witnessed firsthand the profound impact that proper nutrition and daily fueling can have on overall health. Like many of my clients, I have faced challenges with my own gut health and hormonal changes, so I can relate to the frustrations and fatigue that come with seeking relief. Through personalized care and tailored nutrition, I discovered the keys to my health, and my goal is to help others bring their sense of vitality back!
