Bethany Frazier, MS, RDN, LD
Owner, Registered Dietitian
Hi there, I’m Bethany, the owner of the Kansas City Dietitian Collective. I love food puns, cookies, and I’m obsessed with Halloween. I’m a second generation dietitian, so nutrition is basically in my blood. I love that I grew up with nutrition, and my education is invaluable, but nothing makes you an expert quite like experiencing it yourself. On my journey to specializing in complex issues, I’ve had my fair share of complex issues, including hormone concerns, getting my thyroid removed, and digestive issues that showed up after I had my third baby, developed mastitis, and was prescribed three rounds of antibiotics. Working with my health team, and using the personalized approach to nutrition that is our foundation here, I was able to come up with a sustainable plan that supports my gut health and keeps my symptoms at bay. I love to help clients find the right combination of supports to improve their symptoms and improve their lives!

Erica Tangeman, RD, LD, CPT
Registered Dietitian, Certified Personal Trainer
Hi, I’m Erica. I have a confession: I am a Real Housewives fanatic. I’m also a huge fan of creating new recipes and using nutrition to help fuel bodies well. I grew up in a small town and played almost every sport I could. During that time, I began to research how nutrition could help improve my athletic performance. During this time, I began struggling with several GI symptoms, which continued for over 10 years, with no help from the conventional side of healthcare. In college I began to learn about functional medicine and personalized nutrition. I was able to get to the root of my GI issues, finding ways to heal my gut with nutrition and functional medicine. Now, with my education and experience, I am able to help others who are struggling with the same issues find solutions when other medical paths don’t pan out.

Lynn Meeboer, MS, RD, LD
Registered Dietitian
Hi, I’m Lynn. I pivoted from a career in business to dietetics when I moved to Kansas City in 2016. After having my daughters, I developed a personal interest in helping other women through the pregnancy lifecycle – pregnancy, lactation, and postpartum – as well as helping to cultivate healthy relationships with food in children. My education and experience have helped me overcome my own health struggles, as well as my daughter’s issues with poor weight gain and digestive issues. I know first-hand the impact diet can have on health, and I’m excited that now I get to help others optimize their health through nutrition! I am passionate about promoting holistic health and healing alongside a balanced and healthy relationship with food.

Mary Kate Meyer, MS, RDN, LD
Registered Dietitian
Hi, I’m Mary Kate. I love to try new foods and explore new restaurants and coffee shops, and even went on a homemade bagel-making kick this summer! My interest in nutrition started in middle school with my mom adding more veggies to our meals and making them taste interesting and fun, which sparked my interest to help her cook and learn more about how the food we eat impacts us every day. Over the years, I’ve witnessed firsthand the profound impact that proper nutrition and daily fueling can have on overall health. Like many of my clients, I have faced challenges with my own gut health and hormonal changes, so I can relate to the frustrations and fatigue that come with seeking relief. Through personalized care and tailored nutrition, I discovered the keys to my health, and my goal is to help others bring their sense of vitality back!

Caylee Johnson, MS, RDN, LD, RYT
Registered Dietitian, Certified Clinical Transplant Dietitian
Hi, I’m Caylee. For over a decade I have enjoyed helping my clients accomplish their goals. You might find me around town exploring new restaurants and coffee shops or hiking with my husband and our young children. I fell in love with learning about how our bodies use food for fuel while taking a nutrition class in high school. I started my college experience as a collegiate soccer player and pre-nursing student, I quickly switched my major to dietetics when I learned that I could make it into a career and haven’t looked back. I have loved learning about how all foods can find a place in our lifestyle. I hope to pass along the knowledge that food can be used as medicine, used to bring people together, and healthy food doesn’t have to be boring but can spice up our life instead!

Registered Dietitian, Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition
Hi, I’m Lauren. I love to travel and have visited over 29 countries (and counting)! I’m also a registered yoga instructor. I’ve always had a passion for nutrition, exercise, and healthcare, which led me to become a dietitian. I enjoy helping people and believe it is extremely important to listen to each person’s individual needs and create custom recommendations that meet the client where they’re at so they have the greatest chance for success. I received my master’s degree in clinical nutrition in 2015 and began working as a dietitian at Children’s Mercy. During my time there I became a certified specialist in pediatric nutrition. I have a lot of experience working with families struggling with malnutrition, poor weight gain, failure to thrive, and tube feedings. Beth Baustian, RD, LD
Registered Dietitian
Hi, I’m Beth. I went to college in Iowa (where I was on the Rowing team), and then moved to San Diego for a few years before relocating to Kansas City. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been curious about how nutrition impacted my body and how I felt. It almost seemed a little bit magical! As I got older, I began to feel some anxiety and confusion around food and eating. Thankfully, after learning more about nutrition science I was able to improve my relationship with food. Now, I am passionate about supporting others on their journey to eating in a way that promotes health as well as joy! I love helping folks work through old beliefs about food and nutrition and adding joy to the eating experience, all while working toward health goals. I understand that this is a journey and I always work to provide a safe, judgement-free space for my clients.

Lisa Zane, RD, LD, CDCES
Registered Dietitian & Certified Diabetes Care Specialist
Hi, I’m Lisa. Agriculture has always been a part of my family’s life. My mom grew up on a dairy farm and some of my favorite memories took place there. I believe in the power of nutrients, starting in the fields. From there, I fell in love with the science of nutrition while studying psychology at The University of Kansas. I wanted to learn as much as I could about how the food I ate would impact my body. It became such a passion of mine that I knew I wanted to spend my career sharing my excitement for nutrition. After completing my degree in Psychology at KU, I went on to complete my degree in Dietetics at Kansas State University. I have been a Registered Dietitian for over 10 years, and in that time I have worked in hospitals, physician offices and virtual coaching settings. I also spent more than 7 years in a retail dietetics where I taught cooking and meal prep classes in addition to providing individualized nutrition counseling. I specialize in weight management, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and the prevention and treatment of non-insulin-dependent diabetes. My philosophy in nutrition is that there is no one-size-fits-all. I believe in connecting with each client to uncover their personal path to reaching their goals.

What people say about working with Lisa:
Cara Glen, RD, LD
Registered Dietitian
Hi, I’m Cara. I recently made my way back to Kansas with my family after living a somewhat nomadic life over the last decade. In the last 10 years I’ve lived in Missouri, Kansas, Texas, Arizona, and most recently, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. I became interested in food and nutrition after spending a summer in high school watching too much Food Network and teaching myself to cook. I studied dietetics at Missouri State University, where I played soccer (Go Bears!). While I love to try new foods and recipes, I believe in keeping food simple. I’ve worked in a variety of settings as a dietitian, but one thing has always remained the same – my desire to help as many individuals as possible reach their goals.

What people say about working with Cara:
Kelsey Woodson, RD, LD
Registered Dietitian
Hi, I’m Kelsey. I enjoy going on outdoor adventures with my husband, 10-month-old son, and our dog. I also love breakfast food and you can catch me having a bowl of cereal at any time of the day. I’ve been interested in nutrition since I was young, but didn’t realize I could make a career out of it until college. One of the contributing factors to my interest in nutrition was my involvement in sports. Understanding how what I ate directly impacted my performance was a game-changer for me. Since studying nutrition in college and becoming a registered dietitian, I have learned that the many facets of nutrition can impact individuals in very different ways. Personalized nutrition is the most effective way to serve people and meet their specific needs, and I’m so excited that I have the opportunity to do this for my job!

Jamie
Nutrition Assistant
Hi there, I’m Jamie. I have a two year old daughter and am expecting a son soon! My love for food was first fueled by my Portuguese grandparents. Unfortunately, my relationship with food deteriorated after spending years as a competititve body builder. I discovered my path back to a more balanced approach to eating after becoming a personal trainer. While training others, I came to understand the crucial role of nutrition and the importance of a less restrictive approach to nutrition whenever possible. Through my personal journey of healing my relationship with food, I learned how nutrition can be restorative. I now want to share this gift with others as a dietitian and am working toward my degree and license. In the meantime, I love creating social media content for the Collective and helping around the office where I can!

Carri
Administrative Assistant
Hi, I’m Carri. I’m, most likely, the person you talk to when you call to get information about our services, have a billing question, or call to book an appointment. I love my husband, our two kids, our King Charles Cavalier, and iced tea. While I’m not a Registered Dietitian, I have always loved learning about all things nutrition and exercise. I love finding ways to make healthy food taste good. A while ago, I found myself struggling with a lot of health issues and conventional medicine wasn’t helping me feel better. I tried a new approach using functional medicine and nutrition and finally started feeling better! It’s amazing to me how when we give our bodies what they need, they actually start healing and we experience relief. I’m a big fan of personalized nutrition because I’ve seen the benefits firsthand!
